Shannon again

So, this weekend is going to be a hectic one. I have PSATs way early tomorrow morning and my confirmation retreat on Sunday early in the morning until 3:30. Uck. Then on Monday I still have an hour and a half confirmation class, not fair. So, I've gotten half of my written homework done already and my reading homework won't be bad at all, since none of it is from the text books. Oh come on, mother is back with pizza and I JUST began this blog.
Oh well.
So we started the Great Gatsby in english, though i'm only on page 8. Um it was snowing yesterday!!! Exciting =D it's only 42 here currently. Ohpe, there goes mocha rushing to the food.
Today amers came over after school. We walked to subway and then to Orchard Perks. The coffee was incredible! We had a PSAT study session, which was relaxing and rewarding =D. I also had my seminar in class today, which I did not contribute to. I hate participatin in class. >.> It's stupid.
What are other updates of my life? Hmmmm...Geometry sucks. I can't get the hang of proofs, which may be because I missed a day because of doctor's appointment and another from not feeling well. I've missed a lot in chemistry too which is making that class a bit challenging for me.
I've been looking at colleges and though I was planning on staying around the area I may end up going an hour or so away. I've just found other colleges that seem interesting, such as the University of Albany and there's a college in Vermont that looks cool too. =/ but the money issue isn't good. I guess I'll just have to look around and find more info. I hope I'l l find a college that interests me that is around the area, but I'm not going to go to a college that I don't think I'll be happy attending.
Hmm...I turned on the computer to define words for latin...Look how that turned out!!
You're in Paris right now, aren't you? Have fun!! I'm so jealous, that's awesome! I'm sure marsha will treat you =P. Don't be afraid to buy something nice for yourself! On monday I'll try to get on skype for you though I'm staying after for a writing club.
So, I'm going to go work on my Latin, eat a piece of Pizza, and possibly start an essay (which is pretty much the exact same thing that I wrote for my seminar paper...really now, how irritating). Wish me luck!! Best wishes to you in Paris =D send a post card haha.
<3!
Love you soooo much KK!!!!!

Shannon Updates

So as it turns out, if i drop AP English i need to switch my schedule around which I'm really not willing to do. I'm still going to talk to Mr. Frederick and see what his opinion is. Everyone who had him last year said that after the first quarter it gets way better and easier, it's just the first unit that's awful. I hope they're right. I'll just talk to him...
I really love AP US =D I'm doing well in that class and I just handed in my first seminar paper yesterday! =O I'm scared to see how I did haha. We're doing our debate on Thursday, my side being "The founding fathers were not democratic reformers rather they were conservatives" so me and nick are going to wear Anti-Flag tee's and Val is going to wear her Rise Against tee...=D
H/o dinner break.
so that should be pretty exciting. Tomorrow I'm missing math and parts of general chemistry so i can do my math homework that's due tomorrow, tomorrow =D hehe.
Oh, i dyed my hair back to brown but i haven't washed it yet so it will be a few days before I know what it really looks like.
I need to figure out where I'm going to post my homecoming photos. Maybe on facebook I will. We shall see.
My shower calls so I must leave.

I'm superrr sorry i haven't been able to get on skype or anything!! I'll be better about that, I promise, I've been sooo busy. This past weekend was because I was doing my seminar paper and I had so many plans with friends and more homework...ahhhhhH!!

haha, oh RIP coffee pot. Yes, it died. So, we got a new one and it's pretty cool. Only you have to look inside the thing you fill with water to know how much water is in it, which is pretty irritating at times.

I must leave!! It's already 7:30, the sabres game is on, and I haven't showered yet!!

muchhh love kk!! I love yeh! and I'll write you a letter too =D

A break in the life

Dear Shannon-(like, dear abby, hah)
Sooooooo I'm awfully sick of writing my seminar paper, which i have ran out of things to say in though I've only completed 2 pages out of 4. I'm dropping AP english because mommy is sick of seeing me doing so much work every day and I'm continuously stressed out. I want to drop it too. I want some free time in my life, so I'm giong to stick with AP US and get rid of AP english.
So on friday Laura came over after school and our plans changed like 8 times. We ended up going running instead of doing something with Jessie, and she ate at my house instead of going out to eat dinner. Um, we ended up running around Braunview because the track was in use, and all these things kept happening that were hilarious.
Uh...my brain is not functioning tonight if you can't tell.
Today i went to the zoo with amy!! it was so much fun we saw all the animals! The birdies and the poisonous froggies, and the bears! The lions and tigers, oh my! We then went to eat a fantabulous dinner at Tantalus....if that's how you spell it, i have no idea. I then came home, got some coffee, and continued to work on my seminar paper.
Which, is only halfway done.

OHHH we're half way there and OOHHH living on a prayer...

Right...
so tomorrow i may be seeing jess and laura, since jessie lives like 20 minutes away now. and now mocha is barking forociously out the front window and it's bothering my ears. and tuesday i'll get my drop forms from school. woo!!!!
I'll have a much better post later in the week.
My brain is filled with air tonight.

Love you and I hope you're having a lovely sleep this evening en France =D

The Week So Far

So hhmmmm. Let's start with Thursday, shall we?

Thursday:
I got home from school (early, craziness!!) and finished up the last minute details for Carl's gifts. Then he came and picked me up only to drop me off at Floyd's cuz Henrick was ready yay!! His defogger now works more perfectly than he ever has before. You will truly be blown away when you get home and check it out. Then I drove over to Carl's house and we did gifts. I'll upload some pix at a later time and date, but I got from him a beautiful bracelet with 2 heart charms hanging from it. One is a cut-out heart with little 'diamonds' around it and the other is a heart with engravings on both sides. The first side says 'Love You Always' and the second says 'Carl and Heather, October 1st, 2007.

Woohoo!! Good thinking my darling!!

He also got me a little jewelry box that is pink and shaped like a heart to keep the bracelet in. On the top, it says: 'My heart belongs to you now and always!' and there is a little plate on the inside of the top that can be engraved in the future, so we'll probly get that done for some other special occasion!!

And he was gonna get me an edible arrangement, where they make chocolate covered strawbears look like bouquets of roses, but it didn't say how many come in it (and they are mad expensive, so he wanted to know how many id be getting lol), so his mum had her friend make me a cute basket of homemade cookies and homemade chocolate with a lil stuffed bear in a pink Bill's tshirt. It's kinda funny that he was gonna get me the strawbears though, cuz Ashley from my 3 french classes had her anniversary the week before mine and her bf got her the edible arrangement Carl was gonna get me. Kinda weird, huh?

So we just hung out and played darts (my fave!!).

Friday:
I had two classes on Friday, but was hoping I'd get out mad early cuz first was Hovland's class and then I had my English test. Welps, let's just say that my English teacher, as much as I love her, gives long-arse tests. I did manage to get out of there 10 or 15 minutes early, so that's good anyway. But it was allll writing, oh my gosh. So yeah, I get my grade back tomorrow!!

Then I got home and got my stuff together and kissed Mojca goodbye and went to Carl's who didn't have a big enough duffle bag so I had to bring my 2$ one from Sears so he could use that. Luckily, we had gone to AAA in the morning before my classes cuz we were kinda running un peu late for Toronto. But we got there, after sitting in traffic. We took Henrick, but Carl drove (muahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa). It was kinda scary at the border going into Canada though, cuz the guy at customs asked where we were going. We said Toronto for our anniversary and he said, ok goodbye. He didn't even look at our passports!! He didn't even ask for them!! WTF?!?!?!?! It was sooo easy!!!!!!!!

So we got there and found our Holiday Inn easily, but the parking situation was weird, so that took us a minute to figure out. So we had half an hour to get to dinner (we made reservations at this adorable little Italian restaurant called Sputini's). Luckily, it turned out to be right around the corner from our hotel. I posted pix of what Carl and I wore on Facebook, so you can check that out. And yes, those ARE the 4 1/2 Frederick's of Hollywood magenta heels. So there!!

Our dinner was AMAZING!! And the service was probably the best either one of us has ever had. I HIGHLY recommend that you and Jacob go there sometime sooonnnn!! It was expensive, but it was soo worth it. And it was actually only about 25$ CAN a plate, compared to the other fine dining restaurants we looked at, which were around 40$. We had white zinfadel (yummo!!) and I got pasta with shrimp, scallops, and a mixture of mushrooms in some sort of an awesome cream sauce that I have never had before. Carl got a chicken breast smothered in an awesome cream sauce with baby potatoes. And then for dessert (although, before seeing it on the menu, we had totally sworn off dessert) we split a piece of Tiramisu. C'est delicieux!! Oh mon dieu!! We also had salads before dinner, and they had some kind of cheese in it with raspberry or strawberry right in it. Crazy, but soo good!!

I think the best part about the dinner was that we weren't rushed at all. We had dinner reservations at 8 and didn't leave til around well after 9. It was just wonderful!!

Saturday:
We got up, tried to exchange some money for little things, like souvenirs or the bar, but Holiday Inn (of all places) didn't have the $ to exchange more than $100. Like, ok, it's the weekend!! That's the excuse they used, that it's the weekend, so they didn't have any $ to exchange, while in reality, because it's the weekend, they should make extra sure to have that $$. But oh well. I mean, the exchange rate is terrible right now, but we still ended losing a couple dollars here and there when we had to use American money.

We took a cab to the Distillery District, because that's where we thought the Steam Whistle Brewery was, but we were wrong (I was wrong, but don't admit that to Carl). But I'm glad we went there cuz it was sweet. It was a bit rainy, but still nice out. It was just misting, so it kept you refreshed, lol. So then we decided to walk (yes, walk, and when you get home and I show you the map we used, you will truly understand how insane we both are) from the Distillery District to the CN Tower (which, as it turns out, the Steam Whistle Brewery is). So we went to the Brewery. Right away you get a free glass of beer, which is awesome, by the way. And then AFTER you drink half of it, they decide they had better ID you. Crazy Canadians, I'm telling you. We bought the souvenir tour, which was only 8$ per person. So we had to wait cuz it was a little after 12 and the tour wasn't til 130. But we had our beer and then took the tour, which was pretty interesting, and then they gave us ANOTHER free beer and you also got a souvenir, which could be either a glass or a bottle opener. We both of course took the glass. But I'd like to get the bottle opener someday, cuz it's green and mad cool looking. So that was definitely worth our while cuz for 8$ we each got 2 complimentary glasses of mad good beer, a tour, and a glass. Craziness, and I love it!!

And by the way, you don't have to take a tour to get the 1st free glass of beer. You can stop in on your lunch break and get a glass of beer. Why can't they do that here (when I am of age, of course)?!..

Then we walked over to the Hockey Hall of Fame, which was really hard to find. It was in the basement of this mall, only none of the stores were open and most of the places in the food court were closed as well....at 3 or 4 o'clock....on a Saturday....mad sketchy to say the least.

That was lots and lots of fun, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Then we were gonna head over to the CN Tower and hopefully go up it until we realized that we hadn't eaten ANYTHING all day. The beer had honestly filled us up!! So we found the closest restaurant, which was Jack Astor's, which is always a good choice. And it is there that we learned how big Canadian football is in Canada. Now, Kelly, I know what you must be thinking: I've never heard of Canadian football....It actually has a following?!

Yes, dear sister, yes it does. The place was absolutely packed cuz the Toronto team (Argonauts, I wanna say) was playing the Montreal Alouettes (haha). The bar was def a fire hazard and it was just crazy in there. I never woulda thought. I know I've blown you away, so I'll give you a moment to catch your breath.

....
....
(moment is passing)
....
....

So then we decided to walk allllll the way back to the hotel. Now, if you get a chance to, look up Front Street and then look up directions from Front Street to Bloor Street West. You will then see what I mean when I say allllllllllll the way back to the hotel.

And of course, we had decided to make this long journey because it had turned into a beautiful day. But not even halfway back, it began to storm: rain, thunder, lightning, the sky was even a funking color. So that was fun.... We walked all the way up Yonge Street and down Bloor. Quite good exercise, I will say that much. So we changed out of our wet clothes at the hotel and Erin Griffin (yes, Tom Griffin's older-29-year old sister) texted Carl to meet her at a sports bar....halfway back down Yonge Street. AAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!! But we did it, cuz we wanted to watch the game and Erin had been awesome and called all around to see who would be playing the game, and this place (it was called Hoops) gave us a table with our own lil flat-screen tv with the Sabres-Habs game on it!! Yay!! And I will now say that your BF sux and that Montreal's first goal should DEF NOT HAVE COUNTED!!

But, let's move on, shall we?!:

That was fun. The 3 of us spend 90$ on drinks (and 1 sandwich for Erin). Hahahahaa. No one was drunk or buzzed cuz it lasted us the whole game, but we sure did order enough Rum n Cokes, I'll say that much.

Sunday:
Sunday was planned to just chill out and go to the Harbourfront. But we wanted to go to the CN Tower, which was mad cool. However, as you may have guessed right away, we did not go up it, only stood at the foot of it. I wanted to go, and Carl said he would have, but I feared I would faint, or cry, or face certain death, so we decided that 23$ is too much $$ to spend if we are not going to enjoy something. So next time....until I'm standing at the foot of it looking way the heck up there!! Lol!!

So the harbourfront was right near by there so we went there and walked around. It was a little cool, but that makes for a perfect fall day, which is what it was. We found this awesome restaurant to eat lunch at, which looked like the inside of a ship on the inside!! And on the wall right next to our table were gauges that looked like the ones in U-571 when they keep sinking!! muahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only I forgot to take a picture.... :( I had planned on it on our way out, but I honestly just remembered about it now.

So then we left, and sure enough, just as we pulled onto the thruway, it started to pour. Now, I didn't mention that the whole drive there it was pouring rain. So Carl (hehehehe) got to drive all the way back home in the rain as well.. And we had the pleasure of seeing a crazy speeder, you know, the kinds that weave in and out of lanes and it's mad stupid and dangerous, get pulled over!! That was the best feeling in the world!!

We got home and Carl's mum invited me over for dinner so after some coffee at home, I went there and had dindin, but was also forced to watch the Bill's game. Yay, lucky me, right?!

So that was Toronto, and it was absolutely wonderful!!

Monday:
School, work

Tuesday:
School, work, work on Preliminary Bibliography til 130am

Wednesday:
School, find out I can't hand in the Bib for Anthro class cuz she's crazy, work

Thursday:
School, got my bracelet sized by this cute old Polish guy who got his jeweller's certificate in 1955!!, lessons, then had to see the most boring play ever for my Theatre class at Buff State. Lucky me.

The acting was truly phenominal, but I hated the storyline. It was based on the Scarlet Letter, so maybe if I had read that, I would've liked this play better, but I just disliked the whole plotline. But the actors were amazing, I will certainly say that much.

The Sabres BEAT the Phoenix Coyotes 2-1(isn't it kinda funny that the 1st two teams we played were Montreal and Phoenix....Jacob connection right there). Clarke MacArthur and Thomas Vanek, although I only got to watch the first 15 minutes of it, cuz of the dumb play I had to go to!! AAHHHH!!!!!!!!

So today was like, eh, I just wanted it to be tomorrow. Except right now, I'm pretty content with my hot cocoa (although, I think it might be cold cocoa now :( ). Tomorrow I have French with Hovland and then English and then bowling. Nice and relaxing I can't wait!! I usually see Hildegarde before that French class and she knows me and even my name (crazy good memory!!) and always asks how you are doing!! I'll have to tell her your going to Munich (right, Munich?!), she'll be so thrilled!!

Before I part with you, I must say this: next Wednesday, I have the good fortune to work 9am-12, go to school, and then work 5:15-9 (or later) pm, although I do have class early on Thursday, so I'm leaving at 9, regardless. We have a big corporate (oooo, scurred!!) visit on Thursday. I hate my life. Just kidding, lol. I also HAD to switch to direct deposit cuz Sears is being gay and no longer sending out paychecks: it's either direct deposit or some payroll card, which I've never heard of before, so why the f would I get that?! I'm pretty pissed about it, though, cuz I like to physically put my $$ into my bank account. That way I know it is there. I'm seriously gonna be calling the bank every day to make sure my checks went through. Damn $$.

Ok, I better go to bed cuz I'm mad tired. It's 12:22 in the morning and I was up since 6:30am!!

Luvvies sooo much, my deary,
me!! *grosses bises* haha

the interesting day of the week

shannon here. so this week has been slightly interesting. h/o i need water...

okay so yesterday laura and i walked over to jessie's new house after school. it's sooo cute!! it's colonial style, only it's from the 1800's i believe. the door handles are really close to the ground and the frames are also really low. her bedroom is very small but adorable=]. the house is hugeeeeee.
as we were walking from jessie's house to the high school to watch her volleyball game, this kid that goes to our school pulled over (barely pulled over, he was still in the lane) and offered us a ride. being smart, we said no. right after we denied him, this old man pulls over, honks his horn furiously, and then starts yelling at him. he asked me on facebook if i didn't trust his driving skills and i told him no, then saying we just had to walk to the high school. he seemed quite offended.
we trudged onto the highschool and as jessie and her team were warming up, music was playing and the football players were watching. me and laura were playing miss mary mack while dancing to the beat of the music when we look down and see a football player filming us with his phone...when he saw us looking he quickly put the phone away...
we laughed hilariously and have to wonder who has seen this awesome video of us. we must be famous.=D

haha, yeah that was my interesting day. oh, we watched the silent dracula in class which was pretty amusing and i guess we're taking a field trip to go on a ghost walk which i am pretty excited for =D.

today i just had val, laura, and amy over for the opener and jake came too. the canadiens won...grrrrrrr.

<3 youuu i'll post soon =D
mocha says hi!!
